LCD
Description
LCD MCUs are built on 810 Core and have a LCD driver internally.

LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is a display device which can easily found in various appliances like clock, cooker... etc. ABOV's LCD MCUs have good features with internal LCD driver such as a voltage control feature to adust britness and a 'Dynamic Display' feature for saving I/O pins.

Becasue of that this product group is based on 810 Core, it inherited veriety merits of 800 Core like field proven reliability for several years and easy to use development tools. And yet, it is twice faster than 800 Core.
810 Core is same with 800 Core except clock divider. The 800 Core use a half divided clock as a system clock. But the 810 core use the main clock directly as a system clock.

LCD MCU Selection Guide
1. Multiplies COM(common output) and SEG(segment output) equals number of DOTs which reffers maximum number of displayable dots( basic unit of lcd-display ).
ex) 4COM * 20SEG = 80 DOT( it can display 10 digits ), 8COM*16SEG=96 DOT( it can display 12 digits)
So, you should choose a MCU which has enough DOTs for your purpose. Note that number of COM is a one of LCD's characteristic( we say '4 COM LCD' or '8 COM LCD' to reffer those LCDs ). So you have to make sure that the MCU can support the COM number of the LCD, what you want to use.

2. A Driving voltage level determines contrast of a LCD. And it is different for each LCD. So you have to properly control the supplying voltage for a LCD. Therefor a MCU is suggested that has a 'Voltage Booster Circuit' or a 'Contrast Control Circuit'.

3. Operating Frequency determines LCD's display speed. So it is a good MCU that can choose display period.

4. Please check whether it has sub-clock mode or not and can display LCD with sub-clock or not. A MCU cunsumes less power, when it operates with 32765Hz sub-clock. So it is a usefull feature when your application operates with battery and has to display all the time.
