ABOV Semiconductor Certified as an excellent family-friendly company

The company grows only when employees are happy and leads ‘work-life-balance’ system.

ABOV Semiconductor was certified as a “family-friendly” excellent company by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in December last year.

The Family-Friendly Certification is a system in which the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family grants certification through an examination to companies that operate an exemplary family-friendly system such as childbirth and rearing support, flexible working system, and creation of a family-friendly workplace culture. The certification period is 3 years.

ABOV Semiconductor was selected as an excellent family-friendly company in recognition of its contribution to improving national competitiveness through work and life balance of workers based on its excellent family-friendly operating system.

First, ABOV Semiconductor has introduced the 52-hour working system early to operate the ‘work-life-balance’ for employees. In the research group, flex time system has been operated from 8:00 to 10:00. In management group, the flex time for child-care has been applied to employees with children under the third grade of elementary school.

Second, to improve welfare benefits, we support medical check-ups for employees and spouses, and operate a medical expense support system for the individual and immediate family members. We provide birthday gift certificates and run Family Day every month, leading the culture of leaving work on time.

Third, we support language academy and test expenses to improve employees' competency, and leads creative thinking and humanities thinking through the ABOV library.

Fourth, we inspire employees’ sense of ownership by transparently opening the company's results with employees and distributing 20% of annual profits to employees.

ABOV Semiconductor is evaluated as taking the lead in creating a family-friendly environment where workers can harmonize their home and work life by modeling the flexible working system, family caring vacation, in-house library, and profit distribution system.
