A31L214 – Ultra-low power MCU targeting to markets of IoT and battery applications


ABOV Semiconductor releases A31L214 series, targeting IoT and battery-powered application markets that are growing rapidly. The A31L214 series is an ultra-low power product family with an improvement of current consumption performance.

The A31L214 series minimizes current consumption, and its power consumption is only 90 uA/MHz in normal operation mode with 45 nA of low-power performance in shut-down mode. In addition, it can wake up from Deep Sleep mode to normal operation mode within 5 us, which enables the A31L214 series to be optimized for battery-powered applications such as IoT products.

The A31L214 series is a microcontroller product that incorporates ARM Cortex-M0+ core. It includes up to 128 KB Flash memory, 20 KB SRAM, and 4 KB Data Flash memory, and provides low-power peripherals such as LPUART and LP timer and a variety of power saving modes.

To satisfy various requirements of IoT, consumer and industry control, the A31L214 series operates at voltage between 1.71 V and 3.6 V and operating temperatures between -40°C and +105°C. It has built-in ADCs with 1 Msps sampling rate, comparators, DMA, UART, SPI, and I2C to meet the requirements of high speed sensing and a variety of communication modules.

A built-in CRC generator, TRNG, AES-128 and 128-bit UID (Unique Identification) of the A31L214 series can be useful for the function protecting customers’ intellectual property, and the support for the smart card interface ISO/ICE 7816-3 and LCD driver can be widely applied to the applications such as security monitoring system, wearable devices, and health care applications.
