A31T214/
216 is a Cortex M0+ based MCU that supports capacitive touch. This product provides
High Noise Immunity (CS10V) and Water Tolerance (preventing touch malfunction
due to moisture), making it suitable for home appliances that are frequently
exposed to water.
A31T214/
216 features a built-in LED/ LCD Driver function that enables to implement
Touch Input and Display using a single IC. In particular, the LED Driver
function can be used as one of two types: conventional Matrix Type and T-Type
where COM/ SEG swaps on one pin. Assuming that you control 8 x 8 LEDs, 16 IOs
(8 + 8) are required when using the conventional Matrix Type LED/ LCD Driver,
and only 9 IOs are required when using the T-Type LED/ LCD Driver.
The High
Noise Immunity provided in A31T214/ 216 supports CS10 that meets the highest
specification of IEC61000-4-3. The Water Tolerance of A31T214/ 216 prevents
water droplets from being recognized as touch and enables normal touch
recognition even in wet environment.
The figures
below compare the operations when the Water Shield function of A31T214 is
turned off and when it is turned on, while water droplets fall on the Touch PAD
surface.
The
figure on the left shows that Touch Data falls below Threshold when water
droplets fall and is recognized as Ghost Touch (malfunction). The figure on the
right shows that there is no malfunction when water droplets fall.
