ABOV Semiconductor provides all kinds of system IC solutions such as light sensor, LED driver, controller MCU, user interface in order to implement indoor/outdoor LED lighting system for home and industrial purpose.

Application Description
Ambient Light Sensor In the Lighting system, lighting sensor monitors internal and external brightness by controlling the lighting with optimum brightness and minimizing energy saving.
LED Driver Driver IC under the LED lighting system should have high Breakdown Voltage enabling direct switching of power FET for high intensity LED operation and gate driving of high voltage should be feasible. Considering the heat of lighting device, stable operation and durability should be guaranteed under the high temperature. Design consideration is also needed to refrain from using the electrolytic capacitor which is easily worn out under the high temperature.
Main Control In the LED lighting system, MCU functions of minimizing flickers and energy efficiency by controlling time division of LED strings connected with multiple series. Through PWM control of user input, it performs LED Dimming control. Equipped with UART channel used for Local Key input and remote control for user control, main control provides the Communication Protocol Interface such as DMX512, DALI, or RS485.
Panel Control / Remote Control Wall Pad MCU for lighting control senses Local Key input, indicates user’s setting or current status by driving LCD or LED display and provides the interfaces such as DMX512, DALI, RS485 for lighting control. Mostly, Battery Power Supply is used, therefore, design consideration is needed to minimize power consumption under the standby mode.
Touch IC By replacing physical switches which are mostly applied to Home Appliances, Touch Key Sensor does not only enhance the product exterior design but also prevent the influx of external contaminants and reduces manufacturing cost and damage caused by physical impact (pressure) or long-term use.
